Under the name, Helen, Nellie married Samuel N. Burgner on 17 April 1863 in Lucas County. As Nellie, she married Alonzo Bacon on 22 November 1870 in Toledo, Lucas County. Presumably her first husband had died in the war or of natural causes or they had divorced because in 1870, she was back living with her parents. By 1880, she was known as Nellie. Alonzo and Nellie had no children.
