Hugh was Sallie's son before she married Calvin. Supposedly the story goes that Sarah Moore's father, Lovet Moore, was well off and paid the biological father of Hugh to "disappear". He was not acceptable for some reason. Calvin adopted him and Hugh's name changed to Glover.
