Clarence Ray Falls, 85, of Beech Grove, died on Sunday, May 22, 2011, at the Golden Living Center in Clifton Forge.

He was born in Nelson County on March 19, 1926, a son of the late Doskey Moses Falls and Mamie Campbell Falls.

He was a member of Beech Grove Christian Church.

He is survived by a daughter, Joyce Rae Turner and her husband, Rodger; a grandson, Matthew L. Turner and his wife, Vanessa; a great-granddaughter, Alyssa; a sister-in-law, Agnes D. Thompson and her son, J. L. Thompson and his family, all of Beech Grove; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marian Duncan Falls; three brothers, Johnny W. Falls, Russell D. Falls, and Hewitt Falls; and three sisters, Alice F. D. Hailey, Ethel F. May and Hallie F. Frost.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of Ray's caretakers, doctors and nurses for all of their love and kindness shown to their loved one during his extended illness.

In keeping with Ray's request, donations may be made to the Beech Grove Christian Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Mrs. Joanie Falls Bell, 13 Brent Lane, Lyndhurst, VA 22952 or Mrs. Donna K. Falls, Treasurer for the Beech Grove General Building Fund, 2367 Beech Grove Road, Roseland, VA 22967.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2011, at Byrum-Parr Funeral Home by Pastor Mike Auen and Pastors Dave and Barbara Cunningham. Burial will follow at Beech Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
