Daniel Strykul, 89, of Lakeville, IN passed away at 3:55 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2011 in Hospice House, South Bend. He was born on November 27, 1921 in South Bend, IN to the late Joseph and Anna (Bancer) Strykul. On January 7, 1961, in Fresia, Chile, he married Esterlina (Rosas) Strykul, who preceded him in death on April 24, 1999.
Mr. Strykul is survived by his daughter, Angelina L. "Lorie" Strykul of South Bend, IN; six grandchildren, Johnathon "J.D.", Jessie, Lukas, Kori, Steve and Heather; two great grandchildren Zayden and Collin; two sisters, Anna Schilens of AZ and Helen Coddins of North Liberty, IN and two brothers, Jon Strykul of FL and Jay Bancer of South Bend, IN and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons, John C. Strykul on May 29, 2010 and Joseph E. Strykul and three Strykul brothers, Chester, Joseph and Samuel and three sisters, Mary Monroe, Sophie Clemens and Lucy McCuen.
Mr. Strykul served honorably in the United States Army and retired from AM General. Mr. Strykul loved going to auctions and being with his wonderful friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2011 in the Palmer Funeral Home, 314 S. Michigan St. Lakeville, IN. Burial will follow at Porter Rae Cemetery, North Liberty.
