Sophie A. Clemens, 85, of Fountainview Place of Mishawaka, Ind., previously of 113 Village Way, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 7:20 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2000, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. She was born on June 5, 1915 to the late Joseph and Anna (Bancer) Strykul in Chicago, Ill., and had lived in South Bend most of her life, coming from Chicago.
She is survived by a son, Raymond R. (Joyce) Clemens of Atlanta Ga.; two grandchildren, Yvonne Clemens of Atlanta Ga., and Eric C. (Alyssa) Clemens of Charlotte, N. C.; two sisters, Helen (Amil) Coddens of North Liberty, Ind., and Anna (George) Schilens of Mesa, Ariz.; and by four brothers, Danny Strykul of Lakeville, Ind., Joseph Strykul of Lakeville, Ind., John Strykul of Winter Park, Fla., and Jay (Alice) Bancer of Granger, Ind.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 1, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery.
