Harriet Brown Scott Young was the daughter of Christopher Brown and Eliza Shields Brown. She was born in Ohio and moved to Cedar County, Iowa in 1853. She 1st married Alpheus Scott in 1862 with whom she had 1 child named Charles. Alpheus died in 1866 after serving in The Civil War. She married a 2nd time to Samuel Young abt 1871 and had at least 3 children named Jessie, William and Samuel. The current Rose Hill Cemetery list does not have Harriet on it but she is listed in the 1930 WPA Iowa Cemetery Project list.
