Billie Jean Adkins, 38, of 1213 S. 10th, Monroe, died at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at his home following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the First United Pentecostal Church, Monroe, with the Rev. G. E. Chance officiating. Burial was in the Old Union Cemetery at Cotton Plant under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Louise Adkins, Monroe; one daughter, Miss Tresia Adkins, Monroe; two sons, Mark Adkins and Karl Adkins, Monroe; his father, C. W. Adkins, Grayson; two half-brothers, Gay Adkins and Larry Adkins. Grayson; two half-sisters, Linda Wyles and Shelia Adkins, Columbia; one step-brother, Jimmy Shirley of Olla.

Mr. Adkins was from Ward 9 and a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Monroe. He was manager of the Catalogue Department at Sears and was an active member of the Monroe Jaycees.
