She married Johan Heinrich Martens on Aug. 26, 1878 in Germany & in March 1881 they immigrated with two children & settled near Hooper, NE. They were parents of 14 children. In 1910 Johann Martens died and is buried in Bloomfield, NE.

Christina was introduced to widower Martin Meyer and they married on Jan. 15, 1914 in NE. With her four youngest children she came to a Sibley, IL farm to care for Martin's six children still at home. The families blended, with several of the step-children marrying each other. Martin and Christina retired from farming in 1919.
