Eliza Beth Bernal Waters Davidson, 87, passed away peacefully of natural causes due to age on Sunday, February 3, 2008 in Montpelier, Idaho. At the time of her death she was surrounded by friends, family and her loving companion. Beth was born on Friday, February 17, 1920 in Parker, Idaho, the youngest of six daughters of John Austin and Effie Spaulding Bernal.

Beth attended local schools and furthered her education graduating from Ricks College and attending BYU. Education was always very important to her. She encouraged her children and grandchildren to attend college, remarking that her university years were among her happiest. While in college she participated in Shakespearian plays , musicals and sang in a school trio. She was on the tennis team and enjoyed ballroom dancing.

Beth married Lieutenant Reed Palmer Waters December 29, 1941 in Olympia, Wash. He was killed in August 1944 in New Guinea as a result of wounds received in combat during World War II. She later married Calvin Nathaniel Davidson on June 12, 1948 in Butte, Montana. Their marriage was solemnized on June 12, 1962 in the Logan LDS temple.

Her number one job was homemaker and mother, but she was also employed at the ASCS office and Tapper Chevrolet in Montpelier. Much of Beth's free time was spent caring for flowers, gardening and her pets. Later in life she became an avid reader and loved exchanging books with her many friends and family. History also interested her. She was a proud member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and Daughters of the American Revolution.

Beth was only 2 years old when her father died. Thanks to her mother's hard work and sacrifice, she and her sisters maintained a close and loving relationship throughout their lives. Her children knew and loved their cousins and have happy childhood memories of traveling to visit them. Thanks Mom!

Beth is survived by her husband of 59 years; three children, Diane Davidson of Layton, Utah, Calvin Wayne (Sue) of Eagle River, Alaska and Jon (Kaylene) of Pocatello; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
