Adam Kissel, a well known and
highly respected farmer of the
town of Brownville, died Friday
night, aged 78 years. Mr. Kissel was
a native of Germany, but had lived
in this country since 1848. He was a
veteran of the Civil war, being attached
to Co. I, 186th Regiment,
New York Volunteers. He was a lifelong
Democrat and took an active interest
in the work of that party.
He is survived by his widow, two
daughters, Mrs. John Dorr of Pamelia
and Mrs. John Dorr of Leray (as written);
nine grandchildren, four brothers, Peter,
August and John of Theresa and
George of Brie, Pa., and two sisters,
Mrs. George Lehr and Mrs. John
Haas, of Theresa.
The funeral was held from his late
home Monday morning at 11 Rev.
Yost Brandt officiated. Interment
was made in the North Watertown
cemetery,
