Ivan F. Kyler Sr.
MORRISDALE - Ivan F. Kyler Sr., 88, of Palestine, Morrisdale RR, died at his residence
Friday, Jan. 21, 2005.
Born Feb. 14, 1916, in Palestine, he was a son of the late Mae Kyler Rothrock. He was a Protestant and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie No. 812,
Clearfield. Mr. Kyler was a member of the National Rifle Association.
He attended the Palestine School in Graham Township.
Mr. Kyler was employed as a foreman for Penn Line Tree Service from 1949-67.
He then worked at Piper Aircraft, Quehanna, from 1967 until his retirement Feb. 27,1981.
He wed the former Lois E. Hite on June 22, 1939, at the Woodland Methodist Church. She preceded him in death on July 11, 1989.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Leslie Wayne (Elizabeth Jean) Bauman, Ethel Joanne Kyler and Helen L. Swanson, and by a son, Ivan F. Kyler Jr., and his wife, Beverly, all of Palestine, Morrisdale RR.
Mr. Kyler is also survived by a half-sister, Avenell Rought of Marysville, Calif.; three halfbrothers, Rex Rothrock of Mineral Springs, Jesse Rothrock of Dallastown and Bob Rothrock of Waterford, Mich.; a sister-in-law, Margaret Soluri of Clearfield; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchndren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to his mother and wife, he was preceded in death by an infant twin sister, Iva
Kyler; a half-sister, Irene Husted; three half-brothers, George, Clark and Burton Rothrock; and a son-in-law, Leslie Wayne Bauman.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Strange and Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale with the Rev. Barbara Kaetzel-Row officiating.
Interment will follow at Palestine United Methodist Cemetery, Morrisdale.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and
Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service
