Born in Johnson County, Tenn., she is survived by her husband, Harvey M. Black; a daughter, Janice M. Hosey of Spotsylvania; a son, Carl C. Shiflett Jr. of Caroline County; two sisters, Launia Acors of Partlow and Leonia Atkins of Laurel, Md.; three grandsons; six great-granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, with the Rev. John Edmonds officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
