A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011, at 2:00 PM in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Patrick J. Arceneaux, age 82, who passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Reverend Monsignor Charles Mallet will conduct the memorial services. Lectors will be Suzanne Ambler and Edna Wheeler. Lynda Fontenot and Bess Trahan, will sing for the services, accompanied on the organ by Karen Broussard.
Survivors include one son, Kevin P. Arceneaux and his wife, Jan of Lafayette; one grandchild, Sean Ryan Arceneaux; three sisters, Aline Arceneaux, Edna Wheeler and her husband, Bernard and Suzanne Ambler and her husband, Richard, all of Lafayette; three brothers, Charles Arceneaux and his wife, Barbara, Robert Arceneaux and his wife, Esther and Francis Arceneaux and his wife Lynette, all of Lafayette and also numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean D. Arceneaux; his parents, Edgar Pierre Arceneaux, Sr. and the former, Edna Grevemberg; three sisters, Lucille Arceneaux, Irma A. Gauthier and Doris A. Begneaud; three brothers, Edgar P. Jr., Donald and Richard Arceneaux.
A native of Lafayette, Louisiana, Mr. Arceneaux was born on September 5, 1928. He lived most of his life in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with brief stays in Mississippi, Virginia and South Carolina. Mr. Arceneaux, then returned to Lafayette in November 2010. He was a loving son, wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be dearly missed. Mr. Arceneaux proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army.
