Captured on November 24, 1863, at the battle of Lookout Mountain, Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was transported to Military Prison, Louisville, Kentucky, on November 30, 1863, and then Rock Island, Illinois, on December 3, 1863. Discharged from Rock Island on March 2, 1865
