Ruby I. Johnson, age 89, of Richland Center, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 16, 2011, while at Pine Valley Healthcare.

She was born in Richland County on May 25, 1921, the daughter of Amos and Hazel (Moore) Huffman. Ruby was united in marriage with Gilman Johnson at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa on July 27, 1940. They farmed and raised their family together in Viroqua, Sylvan and Sabin before moving to Five Points in 1961. When they retired, they moved to Richland Center and managed Ridgeview Commons apartments. Gilman preceded her in death March 29, 1993.

Survivors include nine children: sons, Culver Johnson of Blue River (special friend, Verna George), Dallas (Judy) Johnson of Richland Center, Dennis (Linda) Johnson of Paso Robles, Calif., Charlie (Sandi) Johnson of Blue River, Kevin (Debra) Johnson of Oconomowoc, Dean (Becky) Johnson of Sauk City, and Carl (Judy) Johnson of Richmond Hill, Ga.; daughters, Rita (Bill) Olson of Soldiers Grove, and Renee Wenger of Dodgeville; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bertha Coppernoll of Richland Center, and Mabel Jean Sherry of Viroqua; and many nieces and nephews.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gilman, their daughter Sonja; and her siblings, Lorraine Pautsch, and Clarence, James, Keith and Kenneth Huffman.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2011, at the FIVE POINTS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 25925 Five Points Drive, Blue River. Pastor Larry Engel will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the PRATT MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 120 North Park St., Richland Center on Friday, May 20, 2011, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Visitation at the church will be held from 10 a.m. until service time.
