Ashton Hicks was the 7th and last child of B. W. Hicks and Isabella Crews. He bought the ancestral home and was a farmer until .. "he died from the effects of an operation for appendicitis at St. Luke's Hospital, Richmond. His body was buried by the side of his paternal ancestors. He was not married.
