He was born February 5, 1920 in Tishomingo County to the late Lum and Mina (Cummings) Barnes, Sr. He was a store owner and operator for many years as well as owner and operator of a sawmill throughout the county.
Survived by wife of 61 years, Leone Barnes of Iuka, Ms, a daughter, Jean Beals of Burnsville, Ms, a son, Billy Wayne Barnes of Burnsville, Ms, a sister, Ernestine Jourdan of Iuka, a brother, Guy Barnes of Iuka, grandchildren, Brian Barnes, Betsy Hardin, Jackie Beals, Gary Beals, 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 21, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Danny Lovelace will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery
