Eliza was a daughter of George Conwell and Mary Ann Young, the youngest of six children. She married on July 4, 1877 in Tuscarawas Co., Ohio, to William C. Turner, a son of Charles S. Turner and Mary Ann Alexander. They later divorced and her name was restored to "Conwell." According to her obituary, her death was the result of a fall on the ice. Her estate was administered by her brother, Clark D. Conwell.
