Pert Conwell Dies at 91;
Sixty fourth Wedding Anniversary
Would Have Been January 1

The death of 91 year old Pert Conwell at 7:30 Wednesday evening last week parted the longest wed couple in the Creighton community. The two would have been married 64 years, January 1, had he lived till then.

Mr. Conwell was confined to wheel chair for a number of years, but otherwise enjoyed fair health until the last of September, when his condition became such that he required medical attention. His health declined steadily from that time on. Death was attributed to hardening of the arteries.

Funeral services were held at the Hengstler & Son Chapel here, Friday afternoon at 1:30. Burial was made in Greenwood cemetery. The officiating pastor was the Rev. David C. Anderson of the Federated church.

Perttyman Conwell was born June 23, 1846 in Ohio. At death, December 8, 1937, he was 91 years, five months and 15 days old.

He lived in Ohio until he was 15 years old, going from there to Illinois, then to Iowa.

January 1, 1874 he was married to Ada Emmalissa Van Horn.

One son, John, was born to the couple. Unmarried, he has remained at home, assuming management of the farm, when his father's declining years forced retirement.

The family homesteaded in Hold county in 1883, remaining there 19 years. They moved here in 1902. Mr. Conwell operating the mill for three years, then locating on the farm southwest of town, which has been their home since.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife, his son, John, and a sister in Lincoln, who was 89 Saturday.
