ROMNEY, W.Va. — Irene M. Kesner, 97, of Romney, passed away Monday, July 17, 2006, in Hampshire Long Term Care Center, Romney.
Born Feb. 11, 1909, in Hardy County, she was the daughter of the late James and Rebecca (Cain) Combs.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Romney Assembly of God Church.
She married Casper W. Kesner, May 2, 1925, who preceded her in death; also preceded by three sons, Virgil Kesner, Charles R. Kesner and J. Russell Kesner; three brothers; and one sister.
She is survived by 10 sons, J. Blaine Kesner, Romney, Casper J. Kesner, Shanks, E. Leroy Kesner, E. Harmon "Tom" Kesner, Richard G. Kesner, A. Brooks Kesner, C. Eugene Kesner, G. Allen Kesner, all of Romney, Donald F. Kenser, Shanks, R. Steven Kesner, Augusta; three daughters, Dorothy A. Pratt, Berkeley Springs, Elizabeth B. Whitacre, Augusta, and M. Patricia Riggleman, Augusta; three sisters, Ruby Maynard, Columbia, Minnie Dority, and Catherine Hose, both of Moorefield; one brother, Overton Combs, Moorefield; 29 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 21 at 11 a.m. in the Romney Assembly of God Church with Don Kesner, minister and Pastor James Mou officiating.
Interment will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery, Romney.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McKee Funeral Home, Augusta.
