Elton E. Bentley, 84, Coeur d'Alene, died Monday, September 13, 1993, at home. Born June 16, 1909, in Reardan, Washington, to John W. and Jennie Blanche (Hansen) Bentley, he came to Post Falls, Idaho in 1929, then moved to Coeur d' Alene in 1978. He worked for the U. S. Forest Service for 15 years, then worked at Kaiser Trentwood Aluminum Plant in Spokane, Washington for 28 years, retiring in 1972.
He was active in the Democratic party, United Steelworkers Union, served as legislative chairman, on Post Falls School Board and the Planning Commission, was on Board of Directors for Hospice of North Idaho and was involved in the support group for Alzheimers Disease.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris.
Survivors include sons _____ Bentley of Coeur d'Alene and ______ Bentley of Juneau, Alaska; daughter _____ Smith of Albion, Washington; brothers Paul Bentley of Hillsboro, Oregon, and Floyd Bentley of Rialto, Arizona; Twin sister Esther Peters of Post Falls and Beth Goostrey of Seattle; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services are 10 a.m. Monday at English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d' Alene.
