HENRY W. "WALLY" KINNAN, age 83, passed away on November 22, 2002. Wally was a man of many interests: musician, pilot, meteorologist and writer. He was a member of the Ohio State University marching band and later a played with the Jimmy Dorsey and Charlie Barnett bands. He was a B-17 pilot in WWII and was a POW for two years. Following the war he was a founding father of the severe storm center of the air weather service and later became "Wally Kinnan the Weatherman" as a television meteorologist in Oklahoma City, Philadelphia, Cleveland and Tampa. He was known by all as a true raconteur. Wally is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marjorie, his high school sweetheart; sons, David E. Kinnan & wife Joan, Timothy A. Kinnan & wife Sue; grandchildren, Keith, Kevin, Jennifer, Emily & Lauri; great grandchildren, Kelley, Ryan, Bradley, Brianna, Brooke, Ethan, Jillian. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, November 25, 2002 at the Chapel of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Fwy., Houston, TX 77079 with Rev. Robert Luton and Rev. Kevin Taylor officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
