Marjorie Gladys Kinnan, age 86, was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia to Emery and Elsie Ahrendt. She graduated from Ohio State University. She married Henry Wallace (Wally) Kinnan on December 24, 1942 in Pecos, TX. He served 11 years in the Army Air Corps and the U.S. Air Force, including two years as a prisoner of war in Nazi Germany. After the war, he continued his military service, which took him and Marjorie to assignments in Georgia, Massachusetts, Washington, Hawaii and Oklahoma . In 1953 Wally began his civilian career as a television meteorologist in Oklahoma City, and this career took the Kinnans to Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Florida.

Besides being a full-time homemaker, Marge was a licensed Realtor and real estate office manager in Largo, FL. Following Wally's retirement, the Kinnans settled in Houston, TX. Before Mr. Kinnan's death in 2002, they had celebrated nearly 60 years of marriage. She devoted her life to her husband and sons, and inspired many with her character a "homemaker" in the best meaning of the word. She was a patriotic American, who took great pride in the military service of her husband, her sons, and her grandchildren. She was a woman of great strength, who was the source of stability and support for her family. Marge always loved her cats, especially Tommy who was a dear friend to her in recent years. She enjoyed knitting heirloom quality pieces for people she loved, travelling with her husband, and supporting her favorite baseball teams. She was a member of the Fair Haven United Methodist Church in Houston.

Mrs. Kinnan is survived by sons, David E. Kinnan and Timothy A. Kinnan; daughter-in-law, Sue Kelley Kinnan; grandsons, Keith R. Kinnan and Kevin A. Kinnan; granddaughters, Jennifer Kinnan Plamp, Emily Kinnan Evangelista and Laurie Lynn Korenek, and 12 great grandchildren. Mrs. Kinnan was predeceased by her husband Henry Wallace Kinnan, her sisters Emily Wilson and Marion Delaney, and her daughter-in-law Joan Mahoney Kinnan.

Services were held at the Memorial Oaks Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 14th, followed by interment in the Memorial Oaks Cemetery.

"Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: "Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all." Proverbs 31:28-29.
