Carol was born July 16, 1937 in Coalville, UT to Elliott and Blanch Crittenden. Carol grew up in Hoytsville, Utah, marrying her high school sweetheart, Harold Hobson, on November 2, 1955. They were sealed a year later in the Salt Lake Temple. They spent their lives together on the family farm, raising crops, cattle, and four wonderful children.
When Carol was not on the tractor or tending sheep, she loved to sew. Her favorite chore was looking after the love of her life, Harold. She made dozens of quilts, sewed ornate Christmas stockings for each grandchild, and hundreds of humanitarian dresses.
Carol found great joy in family and the gospel. Her scriptures were always close by and she loved attending the temple. With Harold, she served an LDS inner-city mission in the Granger West Eighth Ward, and dearly loved the people there.
She is survived by her husband Harold, daughters: Lisa (Allan) Bell, Denise (Kent) Pace, Karen (Sam) Donaldson, son: Justin (Lisa) Hobson, fourteen favorite grandchildren, and eleven 1/2 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Helen Judd, Marie Wilde, and Rex Crittenden.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. in the Hoytsville Church. A viewing will be held on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Hoytsville Church.
Interment: Hoytsville Cemetery.
