Lillie Altman Springs "Lal" Montgomery, 90, widow of Ike Montgomery, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010, in Tidelands Hospice House in Georgetown.

Mrs. Montgomery was born February 8, 1920, in the Rhems Community, a daughter of John Graham and Lillie Jane Gordon Altman. She was a homemaker, a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church, and a very devoted mother and grandmother. In addition to her second husband, Isaac "Ike" Montgomery, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ashable Grover Springs; and two sons, Kedron and Roger Springs.

Surviving are her six children, Charles Helen Turner of Florence, Jean M. Martin of Lake City, Sidney O. (Ruth) Springs and Grover G. (Trudy) Springs, both of Georgetown, and Madge S. Eaddy and Sylvia J. Springs, both of Kingstree; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Laura A. Horton, of Kingstree.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 9, 2010, in the chapel of Williamsburg Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Williamsburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening. from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
