Amanda Viana Shores daughter of Reuben A Shores and Lucinda Woodruff. Married to James Washington Holland around 1860 in Rome, Floyd, Georgia. 8 children; James (b. 1861), Sarah Cora (b. Dec 1862 or 1863), Henry A (b. 1867). Captola (b. 1869), Unknown name (born and died between 1870 and 1880), Thomas (b. Sep 1879) , Samuel E. (b. Mar 1883) and Pearl (b. Oct 1885). With her marriage to James Washington Holland, Amanda moved to Polk Co., GA (adjacent to Floyd County and within 20 miles of where her mother & father lived), remaining in that county through the Civil War & into the Reconstruction Era. James died between 1885 and 1900. She then married John Wesley Phillips in 1900 after his 1st wife Sarah passed away. 1900 Census shows she and Pearl living with John while Thomas and Samuel are working for and living with George W Phillips (a son to John). John Wesley Phillips is the father-in-law of her daughter Sara Cora Holland Phillips. J.W. and Amanda were divorced in February of 1902 and that is when the family seems to have lost track of her.
