Son of Griffin Dozier and Virginia Elizabeth Bryant Coleman, husband of Emma Prevatte.

MARION - Zack S. Coleman, Sr., 86, died Saturday at a Charleston hospital. The funeral will be 5:30 p.m. Monday at Reedy Creek Baptist Church. Burial will be in Reedy Creek churchyard, directed by Smith Brothers Funeral Home.

Mr. Coleman was born in Marion County, a son of the last Mr. and Mrs. Griffin D. Coleman. He was a retired farmer, a member of Woodmen of the World, a World War I veteran, former deacon and oldest active member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Emma Prevatte Coleman; a son, Zack S. Coleman, Jr. of Marion; three daughters, Mrs. Legrande James, Mrs. P. D. Alford, Jr. and Mrs. Sara Williams, all of Marion; a brother, Sam Coleman of Georgetown; three sisters, Mrs. Hoitt Smith and Mrs. Mollie Askins, both of Lake City, and Mrs. Anna Baxley of Marion; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
