Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Shiloh Methodist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery directed by Smith Brothers Funeral Home.
He was born in Marion County, the son of L.B. and Lena Ammons.
Surviving besides the parents of Marion are his wife Mrs. Margaret Byrd Ammons of the home: two daughters, Mrs. Dianne Coleman and Mrs. Larry Hughes both of Marion: two sons, Rickey Ammons and Gerald Tucker both of Marion: two brothers, L.B. Ammons Jr., of Marion and George Ammons of Monterey, Calif.: a sister, Mrs. Leon James also of Marion and six grandchildren.
