Funeral services for Peter Bahnsen, 75, were held Tuesday, Aug 11 at 1:30 p.m. at Wallaces' funeral home.
Rev. E.D. Farwell, Andrew, officiated. Walter Sullivan was soloist and Mrs. Walter Sullivan was organist. Burial was in Wyoming cemetery. Pallbearers were Art Becker Jr., Henry Becker, Raymond Mulvhill, Ralph Probst, Earl Logan and Harvey Huffman.
Peter Bahnsen, son of John and Christina Schmalfeldt Bahnsen, was born near Wyoming on Jan 6, 1884. He was married to Louise Eggers in 1907. They lived in Minnesota several years and later in the Wyoming and Oxford Junction vicinity, celebrating their golden wedding in 1957. He died at his farm home south of Monmouth sunday morning, Aug 9, after a brief illness.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Berdett (Mate) Miller of Andrew; Mrs. Fred (Elsie) Buckholtz of Wyoming; Mrs. Vince (Wilma) Lasack of Oxford Junction; Mrs. Otto (Laura) Hansen of Monmouth and Mrs. Glenn (Lavonne) Miller of Andrew; one son, Peter Jr., Monmouth; five brothers, Sol, John T and Elmer, all of Wyoming; three sisters, Mrs. Adolph Benning, Wyoming, Mrs. Mate Martens and Mrs. Josie Myers, both of Westside; 17 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, who died in March 1959, by an infant son, his parents and one brother.
