WILEY S. FALL GONE

The community was grieved to learn of the death of Wiley S. Fall last Sunday morning at about eight o'clock after a few days serious illness resulting from pneumonia. He had been confined to his home all fall with the trouble and grew better and was on the streets recently feeling much improved. He suffered a relapse Wednesday and was dangerously ill from the time he took his bed. His taking off will be felt by the entire community and the family have the sympathy of all in their bereavement.

Funeral services will be held at the Christian church Wednesday afternoon at three o'clock.

Wiley Sherman Fall, youngest son of Michael and Elizabeth Fall, was born May 31, 1860, in Pleasant township, Monroe county, Iowa, and died at his home in Albia, Sunday, Oct. 31, 1920.

He obtained his education in the schools of the county and has lived in this county alll of his life, as a farmer and raiser of fine stock. He was known as one of the best judges of cattle in the United States, and was often asked to serve as judge at the great National Stock shows.

On March 14, 1888, he was married to Miss Ida Campbell of Waterloo, Nebr., and lived for a short time on a farm near Albia. Later they moved to Albia and have lived in this city thirty years. To this union were born two daughters, Grace and Ruth.

In 1904 Mr. Fall united with the Christian church of which he has been a valued member.

He was a life long Democrat and very active in the work of the party, as county chairman and in state conventions a straight forward, fair and honest fighter who commanded the respect of all alike.

He was appointed post master at Albia in 1892 and gave efficient service in that capacity for four years.

He was for many years a faithful member of the Masonic lodge, quiet and unassuming, Mr. Fall leaves the influence of a good and useful life and a host of friends all over the county, who miss and mourn for him.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Grace Kellogg of Sioux City, Iowa, and Mrs. Ruth Hollingshead of Albia, his grandson, Geo. Martin Kellogg, his brother, Morington Fall of Jones, Okla., and two sisters, Mrs. J. M. Byerley of Rosedale, Kan., and Mrs. Mary Barbee of Topenish, Wash.
