The daughter of James Martin (1789-1823) and Ruth CRYER (1788-1847), she married 1st cousin Hubbard Rowland (Roland) DARE, (son of Rowland C. and Elinor Cryer Dare) on Feb. 12, 1837 in Caldwell Co. KY.
Hubbard and Peggy had 12 children, 5 of whom reached adulthood. They moved to Illinois about 1846 where they farmed. Hubbard became very influential in Jefferson Co. Their children were:
