Inez Vivan Chappell, daughter of Joseph and Della (Masten) Bellinger was born July 2, 1889 in Greenwood, Nebraska, and died enroute to the St. Joseph hospital in Concordia, Feb. 25, 1977 at 12:35 a.m. at the age of 87 years, seven months and 23 days.

She moved from Greenwood, Nebraska with her parents to Haddam. While living in Haddam, Kansas married Manford Chappell in 1907.

They moved to a farm near Haddam and to this union three children were born, two died in infancy. They continued farming until in the early fifties when her husbands health failed, and they moved to Concordia until 1969 when she entered the Cheyn Lodge in Jamestown.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, two infant children, five brothers and one sister. She is survived by her son, Cell Chappell of Belleville, three grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Hattie Cox, of the Belleview Manor, Belleville.

Funeral services were held Sunday, February 27, 1977 from Tibbetts Bros. Chapel, Belleville with Reverend Robert Newberry officiating. Burial was in the Haddam cemetery, Haddam.
