Brothers of Admiral Robert Berry Dead Aged Bachelor Passes Away at His Home in Oldham County
LAGRANGE, Ky., Jan. 17. - Mr. Thomas Berry, living four miles northeast of town, died Friday night at 7:25 o'clock. He had been ill with pleurisy for some weeks but had improved, but on Thursday he was worse and his cousin, Dr. Ed. Palmer, of Louisville, was called. He pronounced him an ill man nut no one was prepared for so sudden a death which came from a sudden attack of heart failure. He was seventy-two years old and was never married but lived on the old home farm with his sister, Miss Fannie Berry. Besides Miss Fannie, he leaves three brothers, Admiral Robert Berry of Detroit; Colonel Gibson Berry of Louisville; Mr. James Berry of LaGrange, and another sister, Mrs. Edmonia Shannon.
His oldest brother, Mr. John Berry, died about three months ago. The funeral will be held Sunday. The boy will be brought to the residence of the late John Berry, where a service will be held, after which it will be taken to the old Taylor burying grounds, seven miles south of town, for interment. Mr. Berry was one of the best known and best loved men of the community.
