Anton Anderson passed away at his home at two o'clock in the afternoon on Friday, September 25th, 1925. His death came as a result of injuries sustained in an accident that happened just four weeks before.
He was born at Hamar, Norway, October 14, 1857, and came to Minnesota with his parents in 1869. Ten years later or 1879 he homesteaded on what is now a part of the home place and resided there since that date.
The deceased represented Lincoln County in the State Legislature, having been elected to that office in 1922 and re-elected in 1924. He was also president of the Farmers National Bank of Hendricks, the Farmers Lumber Company and until lately president for many years of the Hendricks Farmers Elevator Company.
There survives him, his wife, Mina, eight children; Albert, Oscar, Alvin, Lloyd, Annie, John, Myrtle, and Adel; two sisters, Mrs. Martin Olson and Mrs. Mary Valle. Mrs. Anderson and all of his children were at his bedside when the end came.
In Anton Anderson's death, the community loses a good citizen, a true friend and a man who has done much and would have done still more to promote its welfare. The family have lost a good husband and father.
The late Mr. Anderson had so many good traits that it would be hard to enumerate all of them, but all who knew him will recall that he was above all things, straight forward and honest. He was jovial, too, and we all remember his hearty laugh.
There is much more that can be said of him, but we need only say that he lived and did his duty for his country, his community, his family and his friends and thus the world is better for his having lived.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, September 17 at 1 o'clock from the house and at 2 o'clock at the Hansonville church, Rev. Edward L. Erickson officiating. Interment was made in the Hansonville Cemetery.
