GOWRIE - Clara R. "Petie" Patrick 63, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2011 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 12, at the United Methodist Church, Gowrie, with Pastor Jane Shepherd officiating. Burial will be at Gowrie Township Cemetery. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Palmer Funeral Home in Gowrie. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.

Petie is survived by her husband Galen; daughter Stacy Creger of Northwood; son Aaron Patrick of Manson; grandchildren, Aliyah and Ty Creger; sisters, Darlene Plain of Gowrie, Mary (Wayne) Watts of Melbourne, Luetta (Kim) Mittelstadt of Storm Lake, and Mildred (Henry) Marrow of Newell; brother Melvin (Candy) Neagle of Peoria, AZ; sisters-in-law, Florence Neagle of Harker Heights, TX, and Fran Neagle of Storm Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Clara Bushman Neagle; and brothers, Richard, Clayton, and Tommy Neagle.

Clara Ruth "Petie" Neagle was born Feb. 8, 1948 at Deep River, IA. She graduated from Crestland High School in Early. She attended Business College in Sioux City. Petie was united in marriage to Galen Patrick on Feb. 6, 1968. They lived in Ames, and moved to Gowrie in 1975. Petie operated a Day Care for 18 years and worked with her sister Darlene in a cleaning service. She was important to her baby sitting kids, where the kids loved her cookies and the Iowa State Cyclones. Petie loved her grandchildren, and became an active member of their lives. She also loved animals, especially dogs. Petie fought a courageous 5 year battle with cancer.
