Actor. Born John Huntington Rea in Chicago, Illinois, he was a versatile character actor whom made over 100 films at Warner Brothers during the 1930s and 1940s. Some of his most memorable performances were in "Streamline Express" (1935), "Submarine-D-1" (1937), "Torrid Zone" (1940), "Air Force" (1943), "Destination Tokyo" (1943), "As You Were" (1951) and "Off Limits" (1953). After his Warner Brothers tenure ended, he freelanced at other studios and made TV appearances on "The Adventures of Wild Bill Hickok", "Rebound", "Dangerous Assignment", "Schlitz Playhouse" and "Your Favorite Story". He died of a heart aliment in Los Angeles, California, at age 58.
