Mrs. Rebecca Lou Griggs, 83, died Friday, March 10 at the home of her son, Walter Griggs, in Springdale. Mrs. Griggs and her son had just recently moved to Springdale from the Purdy community. She was born in this county July 18, 1877, the daughter of Dock Dotson and Thursia Cook Dotson.
She is survived by five sons, Walter, of Springdale; Bruce Griggs of Hindsville, Hubert, Raymond and Herbert Griggs, of Huntsville; five daughters, Mrs. Chloe White of Roosevelt, Okla., Mrs. Jewel Duvall of Nepha, Idaho; Mrs. Alta Griggs, Mrs. Ruby Yingst and Mrs. Winnie Horine, all of Springdale; three brothers, T. B. Dotson of Hindsville, Oliver and Albert Dotson of Ontario, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Brown of Huntsville; 43 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Kingston community church conducted by the Rev. Cecil Garrison and Rev. Amos Howard. Burial was in the Kingston cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were: H. C. Spradling, Wimbert Griggs, J. E. Yingst, Charles Griggs, Bobby Griggs and Jerry Horine.
