Ole Olsen was born in Sandager, Vester Ulslev, Lolland, Denmark as Ole Larsen (since his father's name was Lars). When his family moved to America he took his father's last name, Olsen. While in Nebraska he went by "Ole Olsen" up to the time of his death. I'm not sure why his last name was posted as Olson, the Swedish/English spelling, for his obit/death certificate.

Funeral Services Held Friday for Ole Olson, 85 -
Death came to one of Howard county's older citizens, Ole Olson on Wednesday, November 10 at the Memorial hospital in St. Paul. He had attained the age of 85 years, 10 months and 13 days.

Ole Olson was born in Nakskov, Laaland, Denmark on December 28, 1868. He came to America with his parents at the age of 14. He worked in Lincoln at various jobs and was employed by the C.B.&Q. Railroad for a number of years. In 1902 he came to Howard county and farmed until 1938 when he retired and moved to Cushing. He had been ill since the first of this year.

Mr. Olson was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Denmark, which church he remained a life long member. He was married to Matilda Adams on August 18, 1897, to which union five children were born. His wife Matilda and two children preceded him in death, a daughter Pauline in infancy and a son Albert in 1949. He was married to Mrs. Agnes Olesen on January 30, 1953.

He is survived by his wife Agnes; two daughters, Mrs. Karen Mortensen and Mrs. Lila Delaney; one son, Harvey Olson; one sister, Mrs. P. H. Rasmussen; one brother, Walter Olson; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at st. John's Lutheran church at Cushing. Rev. Eugene Wekander officiated.

Pallbearers were Noble Larson, Elmer Olson, Harold Rasmussen, Einer Rasmussen, T. W.Rasmussen and Elmer Watson.

Flower bearers were Mrs. Noble Larson, Mrs. Elmer Olson, Mrs. Harold Rasmussen, Mrs. Einer Rasmussen, Mrs. T. W. Rasmussen and Mrs. Elmer Watson.

Soloist was Mrs. Dale Johnson. Pianist was Mrs. Dean R. Armstrong.

Burial was in the South Logan cemetery under the direction of McIntyre-Jacobsen Funeral Home
