Mrs. Hartgrove Dies At Home On Thissell Street

Mrs. Susan Fannie Hartgrove, widow of Silas H. Hartgrove, died at her home, 1002 Thissell street, shortly after 11 o'clock Sunday morning. She had been in declining health for three years and her condition ahd been regarded as critical for several days.
She was born in Stokes county October 22, 1874, the daughter of Wade and Luiza Morgan Carroll. She was married to Silas H. Hartgrove on December 22, 1890, and they came to High Point to make their home 38 years ago. Her husband died April 8, 1933. She was a member of Green Street Baptist church of this city.
Survivng are two sons, C.C. Hartgrove of Richmond, Va., and F.H. Hartgrove of this city; and one daughter, Mrs. G.E. Melton of this city. There are seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren also surviving, and one brother, Coy Carroll of this city.
Funeral service will be held at Green Street Baptist church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with the pastor, Rev. Julian S, Hopkins in charge, Interment will be in Oakwood Memorial Park cemetery. The body will be carried to the church at 1:45 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. The body was removed from Yow's Funeral home to the residence this afternoon.

Funeral service for Mrs. Susan Fannie Hartgrove were held from the Green Street Baptist church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. Julian S. Hopkins, the pastor, and Rev. W.H. Barker, pastor of South Side Baptist church, officiating. A female quartette, composed of Mrs. B. C. Honeycutt, Mrs. J.S. Hopkins, Mrs. W.C. Brawley and Miss Kathleen Malpass, sang. Mrs. M.C. Holton was piano accompanist. Pallbearers were Grady Memory, L.G. Jones, Clyde Lewis, Lindsay Morris, Claude Carter and Joe Bowles. Flowers were carried by officers and members of the Daughters of America, under the direction of Mrs. Collins. Interment was made in Oakwood Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Hartgrove, widow of Silas H. Hartgrove, died at the home of her son, Fred H. Hartgrove, 1002 Thissell street Sunday. She was a member of Green Street Baptist church.
