Henry (Cap) Connell, 77, of Colorado City died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 1989 at Mitchell County Hospital.
Funeral services were Thursday at 10 a.m. at Kiker-Seale Funeral Home chapel with Rev. James
Sanders, pastor of Jesus Name Pentecostal Church, officiating. Burial was in Colorado City Cemetery.
Born March 15, 1911 in Shive in Hamilton County, he was retired from Guitar Oil Mill and as a cowboy ranch hand. He had lived in Colorado City since 1947 and was a member of the Baptist church. He
married Ida Doss Dec. 15, 1940 in Hamilton. She preceded him in death on Aug. 17,1973.
Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Avcritt of Coahoma; two sons, Maxie Lynn Connell of
Midland and James K. Connell of Loraine; three sisters, Cordelia Bamer of Odessa, Nora
Massengill of Hamilton and Nanny Alexander of Greeley, Colorado.; eight grandchildren, Tracy,
Ashley, Justin, Crystal, Joshua, Kimberly, Morgan and Cody; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Porky Proctor, Roger Proctor, Quail Dobbs, Pint Richards, A.R. (Sonny) Doss and
Bob Doss.
