William W. Gowen, age 67, died last evening in the Amesbury Hospital following an illness of several months.
He has been a life long resident of this town.
As a young man he entered the employ of the Merrimac Hat Shop where he worked for several years. Recently he had been employed as an edge-setter in a Newburyport shoe store.
He was a member of the Newburyport Lodge of Elks; and was active in many neighborhood affairs in Pleasant Valley.
Interment in Union Cemetery.
