Amesbury Police Chief will ask for a murder complaint against 19 year old Russell Girroir in the alleged beating death of his grandmother, Mrs. Genevieve Gowen.
Mrs. Gowen died from a blow on the head. Police were called to the house on January
24 by Mrs. Gowen's daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Girroir, who informed them of incidents at
the house. She was taken by ambulance to Amesbury Hospital and later transferred to Salem Hospital where she was a patient for
ten days.
Russell Girroir was taken to Bridgewater
State Hospital where a warrant was served. Police said he had been a patient at Danvers State Hospital. The Police Chief would only say there had been 'trouble' involving the youth and his grandmother.
