Theodore (uncle Ted) served in the U.S. Army 32nd Infantry Division in World War II. He spent most of his time in combat in the New Guinea campaigns. Some of the battle's he was in were Buna, Saidor, Aitape (where he was wounded), Leyte, and Luzon. Books that have been written about his division include Bloody Buna, by Lida Mayo published in 1974 by Doubleday. 13000 Hours, and Khaki and Green with the Austrailian Army at home & overseas.
