WATERBURY — Mr. Gennaro Gugliotti, 94, died peacefully Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at Glendale Center Genesis Eldercare of Naugatuck. He was the widower of Giuseppina (Mancini) Gugliotti.

Gennaro was born in Pontelandolfo, Benevento, Italy, on Jan. 2, 1917, son of the late Nicola and Concetta (Mancini) Gugliotti. He served in the Italian Army during World War II. He moved to Waterbury from Italy in 1954. He worked at Scovill Manufacturing from 1955 until his retirement in 1982. He was a longtime member of the Pontelandolfo Community Club, where he enjoyed playing boccie and cards. He was an avid gardener and loved spending quality time with his family.

He leaves two sons, Nicola Gugliotti of Waterbury, and Carmine Gugliotti and his wife, Brenda, of Waterbury; a daughter, Concetta Girman and her husband, David, of Waterbury; a sister, Filomena Longo of Montreal; three grandchildren, Nicola Gugliotti Jr. and his wife, Diane, of Watertown, Tara Deschenes and her husband, Don, of Prospect, and Lora Kollar and her husband, John, of Waterbury; and four great-grandchildren, Nicky Gugliotti of Watertown, Dylan Deschenes of Prospect, and Liliana and Gianna Kollar of Waterbury. Predeceased are his daughter-in-law, Mary (Lombardi) Gugliotti, two brothers, Carmine and Luigi Gugliotti, and a sister, Felicia Gugliotti.

Arrangements: Funeral 9 a.m. Saturday, May 7, from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, to St. Michael's Church for a Mass at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow in Calvary Garden Mausoleum. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Members of the Pontelandolfo Community Club will meet at the funeral home on Friday at 7 p.m.
