Obituary:
Marshall - At his home on the Crow Wing, January 27, 1889, of Bright's disease of the kidney. Dr. S. Marshall, aged 58 years, 9 months and 26 days.
The deceased was born in Carroll County Ohio, April 1, 1830. At the age of 19 he learned a trade, of carriage maker, then for three years studied medicine.
In 1859 he came to Anoka county, and practiced his profession for seven years. He then removed to Richland county, Wisconsin. In 1874, he returned to Princeton, Minnesota, and followed farming and the practice of medicine, until his removal to Wadena county in 1887. He was an upright, honest and industrious citizen, a kind husband, and affectionate father. He leaves a wife and eight children to mourn his loss. Two daughters are married, Mrs. E.A. Wright, of Anoka and Mrs. O.A. McClure, of this county. The family have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement. The funeral services were held at the house January 29.
