Mrs. Elizabeth C Boyer, widow of Tobias Boyer, one of the oldest residents of Adams county, being aged 93 years, 4 months and 5 days, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Washington Lauver, Orrtanna, Sunday afternoon at 2:10 after a lingering illness from bronchitis.
Mrs. Boyer was the daughter of the late Mr. And Mrs. Christian Byer, and was born and reared in Highland township, and resided most of her life in Adams county.
She was married twice, her first husband, August Hoover, dying many years ago. Two sons, born to this union, Caleb C Hoover, Hagerstown, and Milton Hoover, Maugensville, Maryland, survive, and in addition two children by her second marriage, Martin Boyer, of York, and Mrs. Lauver. One half-brother, John Byer, North Dakota, and one half-sister, Mrs. Sara Roth, Mummasburg, 22 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren also survive.
Mrs. Boyer was a member of the Mummasburg Mennonite church.
Funeral services at the Lauver home Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 with further services at the Mummasburg Mennonite church, the Rev. Amos Myer, pastor of the church officiating. Interment at Mummasburg.
