She was a native American Indian,who was adopted by Elisha Jacob Clark and Matilda (Murray)Clark. She was believed to be a member of the Powhattan Tribe. This is not confirmed since there is an article that also mentions she could be a descendent of the Iriqouis or Wyandot. She is mentioned in a book and in reference articles as being one of the "Pioneer Women of the Western Reserve."
