was born Sept. 19, 1807, in Alleghany county, Penn., and removed with her
parents at the age of nine years to Richland county, Ohio, where she was married
on June 22nd, 1826, to Henry Wheeler. From there they removed to Ill., thence to
Missouri, and latter (sic) came to Iowa and located In Webster county in 1801.
Her husband died in 1872. Mrs. Wheeler became a member of the Church of Christ
in 1846, and since that time has been, as far as possible, closely identified
with the church work. She was the mother of eleven children, seven boys and four
girls, of whom five sons and one daughter have preceded her to the unknown land.
Mrs. Wheeler died August 20th, 1900, aged 92 years 11 months and 1 day. Funeral
services were held at the Church of Christ in Lehigh, Wednesday, Aug. 22, at 2
o'­ clock conducted by Rev. C. E. Conner. Interment in the Beem cemetery south
of town.
