At the time of the construction of the Walmart store on Hwy #321-North at Hwy #321-A near Granite Falls, NC., it was discovered that the forgotten Starnes/Bisanar Cemetery was on the site. There were no headstones with any legible information, but the remains of fifty-one people were reinterred at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Granite Falls, NC. The remains of Joseph Starnes were probably among them.
