James Barker Taylor, 74, of 860 Washington, died Saturday in a local nursing home.
Mr. Taylor was born 1895 in Ogden, a son of Joseph E. and Sarah Ellen Barker Taylor. His first wife, Willena Taylor, to w home he was married Sept. 5, 1916, died Dec 7, 1946. On April 10, 1948 he married to Nila Shaver in Ogden. He was a retired chief clerk for the Pacific Fruit Express Co.
He was a member of the 42nd LDS Ward, railroad Boosters Club and Union Pacific Old Timers Club.
Surviving are his widow, two sons and two daughters, James J. Taylor, Sunnyvale Calif.; William J. Taylor, Hawaii, Mrs. Merlin (Marilyn M.) Hurst, Mrs. Norma J. Smith, both of Ogden; 17 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren.
Also surviving two brothers and four sisters, William B. Taylor, Mrs. Nora Grace Jackson, Mrs. George W. (Vilola) Lindord, all of Ogden; A Earl Taylor, san Francisco; Mrs. Florence E. Smith, Los Angeles, Mrs. John (Lillian) Buskirk, Beaumont, Calif.,
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Myers Mortuary Chapel with Bishop Artwell Checketts of the 42nd Ward officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary Wednesday one hour prior to services. Burial in Ogden City Cemetery.
